Shooting...Shockingly Better Than Sex

Today was a holiday (Pulaski day), so there was no academy. Instead we were told to report to our department. After a couple of hours of miscellaneous tasks we were told to go practice shooting at the gun range. There's something about shooting that gives me a pure adrenaline boost. I've had to learn how to contain that adrenaline because shooting requires a lot of focus. For years I thought shooting was as simple as aim and squeeze the trigger. I didn't know anything about the core elements of shooting such as; sight alignment, trigger control, trigger reset, recoil, breathing, etc. As a matter of fact it's quite frightening to know there are plenty of gun owners out there that have had absolutely no professional training. Now I understand why so many innocent bystanders get killed in shootouts. Guns don't kill people, untrained maniacs kill people.

The video below is a clip of me shooting my .45 Caliber, Springfield XD. 9mm owners please eat your hearts out.

Update 3/5/09: OK so I've come up with a new idea. I've decided I'm going to make some videos (including the one above) posted on Lost in Transition private. In order to view the videos, you will have to request me on YouTube as a friend. Username: steph*da*kel (no spaces and take out the "*")

I plan to make an entire section explaining this process in full detail. Some videos will be so controversial that I won't even advertise them here on Lost in Transition, instead they'll go straight to my YouTube channel. If you don't have a YouTube account, then go ahead and create one. Trust me - there will be tons of videos in the near future that will be entertaining to say the least.

Final Thought: "Kid's don't try this at home"
