Bush Isn't Racist, Some Of His Best Friends Are Black

Lauren & SteveWhen I was 12 I would watch my new born baby sister for 8-10 hours while my mother was at work. While most kids were at the local skating rink on Saturday night I was changing diapers, reheating baby formula, and learning the responsibilities of handling an infant. It's hard to believe that was nearly 10 years ago. Now when I pick her up from school it's as if I'm her own celebrity, and her classmates are an audience for "show & tell." Just several months ago she wrote a book based on our relationship for her class. When reading the book it becme apparent to me that I was more than just her brother, I was her hero. Me a hero? The same brother who rambunctiously comes in at 3AM, the same brother who irresponsibility brings random women in your presence, the brother who disciplines you for simple mistakes? Wow - what did I do to deserve this? Kids are great because they see past things that most adults couldn't anxiously wait to point out. Sure curiosity can sometimes get the best of them, but the innocence that lies within their heart is irreplaceable. So when my personal problems stack up I have my sister to remind me things arent that bad. As our lives continue I hope things progress between the two of us. Our age difference leaves a lot to be desired, but not nearly impossible.

It appears Kanye West spoke too soon when he said "President Bush doesn't care about Black people." In fact as of lately it seems completely opposite. With less than a year to go in his presidency, President Bush has reached out to Africa and help provide assistance for one of the continent's deadliest diseases - Malaria. Since Bush has pledged finacial support to Africa the cases of Malaria have been cut by more than 50%. The finanncial support provided by the United States has funded drugs (medicine), and trained doctors to learn more about the disease. Outside of Malaria, Bush has also made a pledge to donate over $30 billion to Africa to help fight HIV/AIDs. African Government leaders have agreed without the help of PEPFAR (President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.) the country would be in serious turmoil. It's not often Bush gets a positive approval from anyone, let alone another country.

One of my favorite new gadgets to hit the internet is the "Humping Dog USB Drive." For only $9 you can be the envy of the computer lab. Yes, that's right - you can watch your personal pet become very close and intimate with the personal whore computer of your choice.

Science projects never were my thing in grade school. At that young age it was very difficult for me to maintain a creative edge over the other kids in school. Unsurprisingly I always took the easy way out; experimenting with meth seemed to be the winner every time.

All fruit isn't as tasty as you think.

For all you aspiring models out there, please consider dental work before your photoshoot.

Times have changed, seems there's no repsect anymore.

Final Thought: One the hardest parts about leaving Chicago will be leaving my sister behind. Although I'll always play an active role in her life, I'm sure it won't be the same. For the next couple of months I'm going to do my best to enjoy the little time we do spend together.
