1. Solution: Don't answer the door, and wait for your subject to leave. Con: History has proved that crackheads are very consistent, and unfortunately the ringing of the doorbell will probably continue for several minutes, with brief breaks. Right when you think it's over, the crackhead is making attempts to look for an alternate entrance such as the backdoor.


2. Solution: Answer the door, declining assistance. Con: Again, crackheads are proven to be not only consistent, but extremely aggravating . Sure they might accept the fact that you don't want your snow shoveled, however they will offer many other services such as: car washing (despite the fact that its winter), grocery shopping, random house hold accessories, & even pet grooming. This solution is often compared to "opening up Pandoras box." Originally you planned to open the door and say "no thank you." Instead you've purchased a used microwave, & a year supply of free car washes via Crackhead Inc.


3. Solution: Explain and point out the fact that the snow has already been shoveled. Con: Just like solution 2, the crackhead will find another means to make $$$ and explain how you don't have enough salt on the ground. After agreeing with the crackhead, he points out that he doesn't have any salt. At this point you offer him $5 to go buy a bag of salt, and to no surprise he never returns. Leaving you not only out of $5, but a slippery pavement as well.


4. Solution: *My personal favorite. When all else fails, and you've put something extremely important on hold just to answer the door (such as sex, porn, or even your own crack addiction). Simply slide $5 through the mail slot. This is a donation and not a request of any services. Although this is by default considered the easy way out, this eliminates all confusion mentioned in solutions 1,2, & 3. Con: Sure the crackhead is gone for now, but unfortunately he will return some time in the near future looking for the same handout. This process normally continues years after. If given the right finacial resources, this can be an easy "quick fix" everytime.

Now I want to make a reference to a post I made back in May of 2007 entitled: "3sum Opportunities With Mary Jane & Garcia Vega No Longer Evident". In the post I mentioned Joseph Cruz, a 17 year old a boy at the time who killed a coworker of mine in a fatal accident. A close friend of Cruz's family contacted me via Internet recently. Ironically this is the same person's vehicle vehicle used in the homicide. According to this source, Cruz was sited for "reckless homicide" and is currently facing up to 2 years in jail. Although Cruz didn't have insurance or a license, detectives did rule out speed at the time of the accident. Now I don't agree with the punishment, however I think I was very critical of Cruz without knowing the full details. So thank you to the young lady that reached out to me to clarify certain information about this case. Often the media and blogs paint a negative image of someone in Cruz's situation, but the truth is he was just a 17 year old boy that accidentally killed a bystander. Nothing was as malicious as I reported, and I wish Mr. Cruz a steadfast and safe rehabilitation in prison.

The Centers for Disease and Prevention released the annual statistics of several sexually transmitted diseases. The stat that jumps out the most is the record setting 1.1 million reports of Chlamydia in 2006.
